Security
Security
ClipboardX uses controls intended to protect paired-device clipboard transfer and service access. This page describes verified high-level protections, not a guarantee of absolute security.
Pairing and access
Devices register with device-scoped credentials and must be paired before relay sessions can be created. Pairing uses device public keys and an approval flow. The service checks pair membership before allowing relay access.
Clipboard transfer
ClipboardX applications encrypt clipboard payloads before relay. The backend relays encrypted frames for paired devices and is not designed to persist clipboard plaintext. Transport endpoints use TLS where configured. Local clipboard history remains subject to the protections of the device and application implementation.
Privacy controls
The applications include pause controls and sensitive-data/excluded-application controls where available. Diagnostic logging is designed to avoid recording clipboard plaintext and credentials; logs can still contain technical and device-related metadata necessary for troubleshooting and security.
Report a vulnerability
Please report suspected security issues privately to security@clipboardx.it.com, with enough detail to reproduce the issue safely. Do not access other users’ data, disrupt production, run destructive tests, or use a finding to harm users. ClipboardX does not offer a bug bounty program.
