Troubleshoot clipboard sync between Android and Windows

Nothing syncs in either direction

A connected indicator describes the current connection state; it does not confirm that every clipboard item was eligible to sync.

• Make sure ClipboardX is installed and open on both Android and Windows, and that both devices are online.
• Check that the phone and PC are still paired in ClipboardX. If the pairing was removed or either app was reinstalled, pair them again using the QR flow.
• Check whether synchronization is paused in the app, and resume it if needed.
• Copy a short, ordinary text item again to test the connection.

Android to Windows works, but not Windows to Android

Open the ClipboardX keyboard on Android and look for the incoming item on its clipboard shelf. Android requires an input method to be enabled and selected for keyboard access. Confirm the Windows app is running and the phone remains online.

The ClipboardX keyboard is missing

Open Android system settings for keyboards or input methods, enable ClipboardX, then select it from the keyboard switcher while typing. Android menu names vary by device. The keyboard is how ClipboardX exposes synced items for selection; it is not required for ordinary typing in other keyboards.

An image does not arrive

Check that image synchronization is enabled in the app and that the clipboard contains one supported image item: PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP or GIF. Files, multiple images in one transfer, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF and SVG are not supported. Try again while both devices are online.

Pairing or reconnecting after a network change

Both devices need an internet connection, but they do not need the same Wi-Fi. Reopen ClipboardX on both devices and check the pairing state. If the pair no longer appears, start pairing again from the app and approve the request. If the problem persists, contact ClipboardX support and describe the devices and the step that failed; do not include clipboard contents.
